Percutaneous Sacral Nerve Stimulation Sacral Nerve Stimulation is a minimally invasive procedure performed under xray imaging to stimulate nerves just under the sacrum that influence the bladder. A tined lead can be anchored into place to secure proper stimulation. Testing may be performed in the office or in the hospital under sedation. Up to 85-95% improvement may be experienced for overactive bladder symptoms such as frequency, urgency, nocturia, urge incontinence, fecal incontinence or urinary retention and possibly interstitial cystitis symptoms. |
